eBay's 2026 rate card: the per-order fee is now 40p — and other changes UK sellers missed
eBay UK's February 2026 rate card raised the per-order fee to £0.40 on orders over £10. Here's what business sellers actually pay now, and why old "12.8%" guides are wrong.

eBay UK updated its business seller rate card on 12 February 2026, and plenty of fee guides floating around online still show the old numbers. Here's where things actually stand.
What changed
- The fixed per-order fee rose from £0.30 to £0.40 for orders over £10
- Orders of £10 or under stay at £0.30
- Final value fees remain category-based — 11.9% is the most common mainstream rate, not the 12.8% many older guides still quote
The full picture for a typical sale
On a £25 item with £3.50 postage, a business seller in a standard category pays the 11.9% final value fee on the whole £28.50, the 40p per-order fee, and the 0.35% regulatory operating fee — around £4.67 before VAT. Private sellers pay nothing to sell on eBay UK; buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee instead.
What to do
Ten pence per order is £10 a month at 100 orders — the kind of creep that quietly eats a margin. The MakerCalc eBay calculator uses the current rate card, including the £10 threshold, so run your typical order through it and check your prices still work. Selling in a category with a different rate? Check eBay's rate card for your exact percentage — category rates vary from 5% to 14.9%.
